American Legion Post 43 was one of the Sponsors for the City of Naperville’s 2nd Healing Field of Honor. The number of flags on Rotary Hill, 2012, represented the year.

Naperville Healing Field of Honor returned to downtown Naperville November 8th through the 13th, 2012. American flags once again were proudly displayed on Rotary Hill as we united as a community to remember and honor the men and women of the U.S. Military.

The proceeds from the commemorative event benefited Operation Support Our Troops – America, designated to fund new and better treatments for veterans suffering from TBI and PTSD.
Each 3-foot by 5-foot flag stood 8-feet tall in perfectly aligned columns and rows from the base of Rotary Hill rising to the top of the hill at Aurora Avenue. It was an inspirational view from above and even more so to walk amongst the flags and read the memorial tags dedicated to family members and friends.

There were additional events to recognize the men and women in the U.S. Military throughout the week, including a Veteran's Day Observance on November 11th at 11:00 am, featuring patriotic carillon music, refreshments and an official ceremony.
