American Legion Post No. 43 has selected Rodney and Barbara Randall of Naperville to jointly receive its annual Citizen-of-the-Year Award.
The 2011 Citizen-of-the-Year Award was presented jointly to Rodney and Barbara Randalls. in April 2011. The annual Citizen-of-the-Year Award recognizes extraordinary service to the Naperville-area community or to the Nation. “Rod and Barbara – individually and as a couple – have been ‘hands-on’ volunteers ever since they moved to the Naperville area back in 1971,” said Wayne Fischer, chairman of the Citizen-of-the-Year Award Committee.
“Over the years, they’ve had a positive impact on so many lives. Rod has repaired homes for seniors, disabled persons, and single parents. Barbara has initiated an infant-car-seat loan program. Rod has helped save precious open space in our beautiful city. Barbara has organized and implemented three different recycling programs
