Bob Bohr served as 77th Commander of Post 43 for 2 consecutive years 2006-2007 and 2007-2008.
Bob was born November 21, 1947 in Clintonville, Wisconsin. He served for four years in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era (September 1965 and September 1969).

He was a Fuel System Mechanic working on B-52 and KC135 Aircrafts. Stateside he was stationed at Wurtsmith, Michigan and Barksdale, Louisiana. He also served in Guam, Okinawa and Taiwan. Following his military, he worked as a shipping clerk and service station manager/operator for Standard Oil.

Bob claims he was fortunate to end up in Naperville and was mentored by Wayne Fischer and Phil Maughan. He became active in the Post as a trustee, School speech contest, scholarship committee and visits to assisted living homes. While Commander the Post also participated in local events such as sidewalk sale, Native American Powwows, parades and Blue Star Banner Events. We also worked and helped with fundraising with Operation Support Our Troops (OSOT) American and Operation Welcome You Home.

Bob went on to serve as DuPage County Commander (2010), 11th District Finance Officer (2010-2015) and 2nd Division National Security Commission Chairperson (2012-2015). He also chaired the Gifts to the Yanks at the District and Division Levels.

Bob also served on the Board of the DuPage County Veteran’s Assistance Commission and chaired the National Commission.
