Post 342, under the leadership of Commander Guy Few, made a $15,000 pledge to fund a playroom, to be located in the new Delnor Hospital building's Pediatric Patient Care Center. Commander Few stated, "We are pleased to be able to make this gift to the hospital as we continue to support the interests ofg children in our community." Especially poignant is the fact that in 1924, Post 342 assumed responsibility for management of the St. Charles Community Hospital, precursor to Delnor Hospital, from the doctor that had built the small, now seriously aging town facility for his patients.

The children's playroom was designed for  toddlers through adolescents, with seperate areas for each and special, state of the art play equipment like VCR's, video games, a stereo system, along with plenty of toys, books, magazines, furniture and a game table. The design provided for a "parent & visitor's" waiting area, and included various elevations, located on the hospital's second floor.
