"Derived that a post of the American Legion shall be organized in Morris, local former service men have been busy in the last few days enrolling membership and preparing for the state convention to be held in Peoria Friday and Saturday.
"The movement has met with instant favor among the veterans and although it is only necessary to have fifteen signers to obtain a charger nearly 50 men have signified their desire to become charter members of the organization. it is expected that this number will be increased materially before the delegates to the convention leave for Peoria tomorrow.
"Among the men who will represent the local post at the state convention are H. J. Leach and A. W. Buck. They will leave at 10:40 tomorrow morning and all who desire to join the organization as a charter member may do so by seeing Mr. Buck at the Farmers & Merchants National Bank.
