Milledgeville, Georgia’s American Legion & its Auxiliary of Post 523 & HOLLA at ya ANCESTORS.ORG are proud to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the American Legion by following in the footsteps of our 1940’s Auxiliary sisters who microfilmed every Georgia counties’ WWI Discharge Service Record Cards. Likewise, ALA Post 523 is spearheading the nation's first of fifty "complete" WWI African American (AA) Troop Database(s); a companion book entitled "Heroic Gems of the Red Clay"; and a tentative Emory U (Stuart A Rose) Lib, HOLLA at ya ANCESTORS & ALA statewide Collaborative of a Georgia Statewide Veterans' Video Narrative Archive of "Recorded Veterans and/or their descendants from across the state and across the wars and across all ethnic backgrounds with a concentration on AA’s. merican Legion Post 523 & its Auxiliary attendees Cmdr. Kathy Hawkins-Woods and Special Projects Historian, Johnette Brooks continue to attend, participate and learn at the Statewide Conference along with all of our fellow Busy Bumble Bees from across the state.
