In January, at the Post Executive Committee meeting headed by Carl C. Edge, Sr. announced the purchase of a majority of the stock in the Cherokee County Fair Association. This joint venture proved to be beneficial to both Post 45 and the Fair Association. It gave the post members a place to meet on a regular basis. Two years later the Fair Association sold the American Legion a parcel of land for $1.00 on which to build a permanent home.
