2018 was the second year for Post 337 to bring Christmas cheer to the approximately 550 hospitalized veterans at the Charlie Norwood VAMC and the Georgia War Veterans Home in Augusta. Each veteran received a 4 1/2" felt Christmas Stocking with candy and a small greeting from the Post. The almost 600 stockings were assembled by Post members and their families. Post members and other community sponsors donated the stockings and the candy. Each veteran also received a Christmas card signed by the members of the Grovetown community at various events the Post attended through the year. Thanks to the students at Blue Ridge Elementary School and the Sunday School at the Grove First Baptist Church, each veteran also received a hand made Christmas card. After the delivery of the cards and stockings, Commander Adam presented Art Teacher Ms. Resto and Principal Ms. Murphy with Certificates of Appreciation for their assistance with this project.
