Claiming that November 11 is “the real Armistice Day,” members of American Legion Horace Orr Post 29 plan to hold memorial services Monday for the U.S. Army sergeant after whom their post is named.

Orr was the first Marietta man killed in action during World War I and the local American Legion members are planning to honor him and other war dead with a service at his grave in Mars Hill Cemetery, Acworth, about half-a-mile west of U.S. 41.  An official at Post 29 said the service would start at 10:30 a.m.
