An all-day program, including a speech by Gov. Herman Talmadge, is planned by the Horace Orr American Legion Post on April 23 to celebrate the formal opening of the new Legion Home.

The program will be open to the public and will be free, Commander Charles Ward has announced.

Gov. Talmadge's speech at 11 o'clock will be followed by a barbecue.  A hillbilly band will play for square dancing from 6 p.m. until 9 and a dance band will play from 9 until midnight.

The first event of the Legion Home was the supper Tuesday night attended by more than 262 persons.

Chaplain Dow Heard was guest speaker.  "The place was packed," Commander Ward said "and we consider it a howling success."
