Final tribute was paid Thursday afternoon from Ward Funeral Home to Mrs. A. E. Orr, who died early Wednesday morning at her home at 300 McDonald in Marietta.

The Rev. Harry K. Holland and the Rev. George  F. Brown officiated.  Burial was in Mars Hill ccecmetery, near Acworth.

Mrs. Orr, 78, had lived in Cobb county all her life.  The first Gold Star mother in Marietta during World War I, she was the mother of Horace Orr, killed oversaes with the AEF, for whom the American Legion post in Marietta is named.

Survivors include two daughters: Miss Margaret M. Orr, Marietta; and Mrs. Zollie Ison, Griffin; one son, Hugh L. Orr, Marietta; three sisters: Mrs. Janie Foster, Atlanta; Mrs. C. C. James, Marietta; and Mrs. J. C. Busby, Cedartown; three brothers: H. S., C. L., and H. C. Jackson, all of Atlanta.
