Marietta's American Legion Auxiliary, an adjunct of the Horace Orr Legion Post, was officially chartered Tuesday, March 4, 1940 at 7:30 p.m., at the YWCA, at which time The Legion celebrated it's 21st birthday.
Mrs. Caroline Healy, left, is receiving the charter from Mrs. H. R. Renner, Seventh District President.

Looking on is Arthur L. (Pat) Crowe, master of ceremonies for the occasion. Mr. Crowe was the first commander of the Horace Orr Legion Post.
