John A. Heck, well known Marietta civic leader and merchant has been named commander of the Horace Orr post, American Legion. He succeeds, Lucius H. Atherton in this post.
Other new officers are George Wharton, senior vice-commander; Mr. Atherton, junior vice-commander; W. L. Baker, re-elected finance officer, an office he has held since organization of post; and F. E. Davenport, chaplain.
New officers will be installed at special ceremonies of the September session.
Delegates to the state convention which meets in Albany Sunday are Mr. Heck and Mr. Davenport.
