John A. Heck, State Road Commissioner under thge Talmadge regime, and owner of the Farmers Cash Supply Company, was elected Commander of the Horace Orr Post of the American Legion here Friday night at an election of officcers.

Mr. Hech, along with four other new officers will be installed at special ceremonies at the first September meeting.

George Warton was nemaed senior vice-commander.  Lucius Atherton, present commander,  will be installed junior vice-commander. W.L. Baker was re-elected Finance Officer  Major F.E. Davenport of the Colonial Ranch, Austell, chaplain.

Although the newly elected commander had served his affiliations with the local post while a member of the State Road board, his election is seen as a step forward in the progress preferred by post members for the next year.
