We now have two hand-painted Flag Drop Boxes outside our entrance for the public to use for flags that need to be honorably retired. The idea was brought to the post by Ron Davis in 2006 after seeing a similar idea at a Post in South Carolina. Harold Watkins and Keith Hardman procured two old mail boxes. Senior Vice Commander, Doc Barber, got Chuck and Ray of Diamond Auto Paint-South Cobb to paint them. John Floyd, Jr., a SAL Member and a professional artist & illustrator, painstakingly made his own stencils and hand-painted both boxes the last full week of November. He had to move inside to finish when we had our first freeze. Hats off to John for an excellent job well done! Thank you.
