
During the Post's Combined Membership meeting held on Thursday, September 19, 2024, two Girl Scouts and several members of the Sheriff's Department were presented with Legion certificates and Challenge coins. Members from the Sheriff's Department were recognized for providing transportation to students attending Boys State Camp and a "Humvee" so Post Family folks had a vehicle to ride in during the July Peoples Parade. Girl Scouts, Mary Katherine Akers, and Alaina Dhople were recognized for undertaking the monumental task of cleaning Veteran Headstones throughout Carroll County. This project earned them the "Girl Scout Silver Award". It is the highest award given and shows that a Girl Scout Cadette is a leader that is well organized, determined, and dedicated to improving the Community.
