Georgia Post 143 Awards "Bob Hilliard" Scholarship

American Legion Post 143 held its first Annual Scholarship Awards night during their Combined Membership meeting on Thursday, May 18, 2023, when Addison Orr, Villa Rica High School Honor Graduate, was selected by the Post Scholarship Review Committee out of 26 other protentional nominees, as the first recipient of the "Bob Hilliard" $1000.00 Scholarship. Addison will be attending Berry College this August and will be majoring in Elementary education. Addison plans to return home after graduation and teach at one of the Elementary schools here in Carroll County. Dr. Robert Hilliard, for which the scholarship is named, was also unable to attend, however, Bob did send a letter congratulating Addison which Bill Hearnburg read to the audience.
