A monument and headstone were dedicated Friday at the Atlanta cemetery gravesite of an American Red Cross nurse, Camille Louise O'Brian of Emory Hospital who died 100 years ago while serving in Blois, France during WWI. She was the only woman from Georgia who died as a result of WWI after contracting spinal meningitis. Participating in the ceremony, which included representatives from France and Ireland, was a four-man contigent from American Legion Carroll post 143 from Carrollton, GA. Ronnie Pate, Randy Purser, Ron Knowles and Don Levans served as the Color Guard for the Ceremony. The rifles carried by the guard were the same 1903 models that were used on the battlefields in France during WWI.
