
Volunteers from the Post family participated in Heritage Days again this year acting as tour guides and parking attendants.. This is a two day event where 1400 4th graders got to see what is was like to live in the Carrollton area during the early days of the Settlers. They got to see farm animals, items used by the early native American Indians, how to make candles, what it was like to have a family of 5 live in a one room cabin and attend school in a one room schoolhouse. They also learned how the American Flag evolved over the years and were able to witness a Flag Retirement ceremony presented by the American Legion Post 143.In the Picture is Sons of the American Legion Squadron 143 Commander George Wheeless, explaining to students about Charles Carroll and the impact he had on Carroll County and the naming of Carroll Post 143.
