On 03 June 2017 American Legion Post 283 hosted the 5th District Commander's Dinner. Current Commander Fred Mathews was present as well as many Past Commanders and Auxillary Presidents. Working together Both 5th District Vice Commander Troy Horsley and 5th District Auxillary President Robin Walker both of American Legion Post 283 planned the event.
