The American Legion Post of veterans of color (edited), was organized at Paterson's Inn, Day Street, by Past Commanders Downs, Goldschmidt, and Merriam. Comrade Alphonse Canevari also assisted in the organization of this Post, which was later named the Joseph Blunt Post.
