A testimonial dinner was tendered for Lieutenant Dan R. Edwards at the Mahackemo Hotel following which Lt. Edwards was the honored guest at an open meeting of the Frank C. Godfrey Post at Odd Fellows' Hall, South Norwalk. Mayor Thomas Robins paid high tribute to Comrade Edwards and welcomed him to the city. The Reverend Ernest F. McGregor offered the invocation and Colonel Ernest K. Coulter introduced Comrade Edwards at the meeting, which was conducted by Commander Leroy D. Downs. Representatives of all the local veterans' organizations and their auxiliaries were present to greet Lt. Edwards. Comrade Edwards delivered an inspiring address on Americanization, the work of the Veterans Bureau, and other topics of interest. Comrade Lt James Lavery spoke, citing feats of bravery and endurance performed by Comrade Edwards at Cantigny and Soissons, and of his wonderful self-accomplished success since the war. Past Commander John Keogh of the Legion and Past Department Commander Christian Swartz of the G.A.R. also spoke.
