CPL Eddie Gotfred Anderson was one of four that died from Westbrook in the War to end all wars, World War I. He was a member of Company M, 325th Infantry. Eddie trained at Fort Devins prior to going overseas. He died May 20, 1918 at the base hospital in France from Pneumonia. He was 26. He was buried in Fountain Hill Cemetery, Deep River, Connecticut. Previous to his service, he worked for Comstock & Chaney, Ivoryton. (Picture not available) ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ CPL Theron E. Hoxsie died on September 9, 1944. He was the engineer aboard a C47. Both engines failed on the airplane that was flying in bad weather, while on a photographic reconnaissance mission over central Greece. The aircraft crashed into the side of a mountain near the hamlet of Stevenikon. As well as the crew on board the Dakota of the 12th troop carrier squadron (TCS) based in Brindisi were several members of both SOE Force 133 and their US counterparts the office of Strategic Services (OSS). Those lost are those on this grave and were laid to rest in the US Military Cemetery in Arlington, Va.
