On September 17, 2009, the Town Council voted to name the new Town Park pedestrian bridge "Veterans Memorial Bridge" as suggested by members of American Legion Post 108. A formal dedication was scheduled for Veterans Day, with the Post paying for a plaque to be installed on the bridge for the dedication.
