Although Post 108 members had previously been active and had provided military honors for deceased veterans, no formal standing Honor Guard existed. However, that was to change after Post 108 Legionnaire Roy Vega observed an Honor Guard from Legion Post 75, Cortez, Colorado, provide formal military funeral honors. In 2009, and under Vega's direction, Post 108 established its own standing Honor Guard. 2015 marked the year during which the Post passed the number of 400 for Final Honors provided for Archuleta County veterans.
The Post Honor Guard regularly provides flag details for Memorial Day, July 4th, Veterans Day, and for a variety of other civic and community events.
