From 1920 to 1946 the Post met, at various times, in the Courthouse, Hatcher Building, Martinez Pool Hall, and the Masonic Hall before finding its current home site at 287 Hermosa Street, Pagosa Springs, CO 81147. The property was purchased from Obbie L. and Grace M. Sanders; Lot 15 in Block 29 of Pagosa Springs, Colorado, for $175.

The Post building, itself, was constructed in 1909 as a schoolhouse in O'Neal Park on Upper Piedra Road. The last students attended in 1945. The building was given to the Post in 1947 and moved to its present site. August 8, 1993, a plaque, describing the building's origin, was donated by Jim Cloman and was permanently installed by Roy Moats on the building front. (A picture of the plaque can be viewed in the Gallery section of this site).

In June of 2010, Legionnaires David Lopez and Hal Lowe, along with Bob Howenstine, repainted the building, installed new gables, and refinished some old signage.
