Once again Ventura County Post 48 organized the Armistice Day celebration this time held in Santa Paula on November 11, 1926. This was again a grand celebration attended by over 10,000 spectators. The program included a speech on preparedness by Lieutenant Leslie Arnold an Ex-Army pilot who had gained fame as one of the members of a flying team to be the first in history to circumnavigate the world. Also in attendance was famed silent screen actress Priscilla Dean whom Lt. Leslie Arnold would later marry two years later. During the noon hour Legion members of Post 48 met and elected Dan Emmett as Post 48 Commander for 1926 – 1927.
