One of the final accomplishments of Commander Pressey's administration was to organize the Armistice Day celebration in Ventura County held in Oxnard November 11, 1921. The program included a parade, barbeque, and boxing matches. The stage having been set the previous year for this grand celebration it was a huge success.

The total population of Ventura County was at that time (1920 census) 28,724 and the Armistice Day celebration held November 11, 1920 in Oxnard, was attended by more than 10,000 County residents.
