For many years the Ventura County Post did not have a Post home. It could be said the first Post Home of Ventura County Post 48 was a circa 1917 - 1920 Ford Model T. In the August 21, 1921 issue of "The American Legion Weekly" http://www.post48.org/cpdaly.html the Ventura County, California post was described as a "Rotating Post Headquarters" and had as its headquarters in the post adjutant's flivver. The Adjutant, Charles P Daly's The Ford Model T was furnished as his portable office by the other Legionnaires who felt they could afford the expense in view of their saving on more definite headquarters. This post service vehicle was used to take the Post's meetings from town to town rotating throughout the County.
