The first Commander of Post 48, Frank A Arbuckle a resident of Fillmore, and served as Commander from 1919 to 1920, on July 6, 1920 he resigned as Commander to run for California State Senator. Frank was elected as California State Senator and would later become a United States Congressman for the 16th District of California. On July 22, 1920 Post 48 elected Jasper Berry as Commander of the Post to finish the term vacated by Frank A Arbuckle. Jasper a Charter member had been the 1st Vice Commander in Arbuckle's administration.
