On September 12, 1919 Post 48 received its Charter. The first meeting of Post 48 was held September 19, 1919 in the Superior Court Room of the Ventura County Courthouse. The meeting was called to order at 8:00 PM and Jasper Berry was elected temporary Chairman. Charles P Daly was elected temporary Secretary.
