The Los Angeles Sheriff's Star Post was founded by deputies of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. As a specialty post, early membership had been restricted to sworn members of the Sheriff's Department; however that is no longer the case as membership is offered to any qualifying veteran who is employed by the Sheriff's Department, sworn and civilian alike..
These were men who patrolled the streets, investigated criminal activity, and were the lawmen of Los Angeles County. This section is dedicated to those who lost their life in the line of duty as members of the LASD. May they forever rest in peace.
