VETERANS ALL --- A moment of silent tribute to buddies who are still "over there" is paid on Armistice Day, 1948 by four South Bay veterans. Holding their attention are pictures of South Bay servicemen killed during World War II, and on display in the Lobby of the American Legion clubhouse, Redondo Beach. They are (left to right) Larry Wiley, Manhattan Beach, former Marine; William Bostick, Manhattan Beach, past Post 184 Commander and Army man; Jay Evans, Hermosa Beach, Coast Guardsman; M Sgt. William E. Weber, career Air Force.
This photo was take in the lobby of Post 184 by the Daily Breeze

The images and information in this display would not have been possible without the efforts of John L. Proudfoot, former Post 184 Adjutant Service Officer. After the poignant process of gathering these images and dates, a long time before computers, spreadsheets, databases & the Internet, a display was dedicated on May 13th, 1946. It can still be view at the Post. [Note: John Proudfoot's son is in this collection.] It can be viewed on-line at http://post184.com/web1/html/ww2.htm
