On August 10, 1998 the John H. Slaugher American Legion Post 30 held a dinner for the delegates who had attended Boys State and Girls State in June. Delegates had been selected from Round Valley High School juniors, two boys sponsored from the Legion, and two girls sponsored by the Legion Auxiliary. The Legion and Auxiliary have been sponsoring delegates to Boys State and Girls State since 1986.
At the dinner, delegates Jaime Dyer, Sarah Smith, Jacob Hammond and Lincoln Slade, described for the members the activities during their week at Boys State and Girls State, what skills and information they had learned, and what impact they expect it will have on their lives.
