The Auxiliary of the John H. Slaughter American Legion Post 30 chose Roni Shank and Trisha Haws, both students at Round Valley High School, as their delegates to Girls State for 1996.The alternates, should these two be unable to attend, are Karalea Hitchcock and Melissa Leaverton. Girls State was held at the University of Arizona June 10-16. In September, the Legion and Auxiliary held a Girls State/Boys State dinner at which the delegates shared their experiences and the lessons they learned during the week.
