In an effort to further bolster numbers of members, and preserve the Legion connection in many families of long time Legionaires, Post 30 voted to establish a Sons of the Legion unit, which would be open to children of veterans who belonged to the Legion. Some members of the Sons of the Legion provided essential help in the Geritol Construction Company which began construction of the new Post 30 building in the following year. Not, of course, that the members were anticipating needing help when they instituted Sons of the Legion!
