Jessica Darnell and Mary Ellen Slade were chosen as Girls State delegates, with Heather Hopson as alternate,from Round Valley High School by the Auxiliary of the John H. Slaughter American Legion Post 30 in Springerville. Girls State is held at the University of Arizona in Tucson from June 7-13. At the beginning of the school year in September, the delegates to both Girls State and Boys State will be invited to share their experiences with the Legion and Auxiliary at a dinner at Post 30 held in their honor.
