White Mountain Apache Tribal Chairman, Reno Johnson, Sr. awarded the Color Guard of the John H. Slaughter American Legion Post 30 in Springerville the Apache Nation's Medal of Valor for the help and support the Color Guard has provided to Apache burials and ceremonies.
Members of the Color Guard receiving the award were Ralph V. Salce, Jr., Merle F. Harper, Emilio Orona, Larry Lee Rhodes, Wayne Barsness, and Darrel A. Bump.
