End the government shutdown, Legion and other VSOs demand
American Legion Government Affairs Executive Director Mario Marquez was among 10 speakers at an Oct. 14 press conference calling for Congress to immediately end the federal government shutdown. While calling for an end as the shutdown enters its third week, Marquez reassured veterans, servicemembers and families that The American Legion will not stop advocating for them. “You have carried this nation on your backs. You have kept faith with America — even when America’s leaders could not keep faith with you. We have your back and will not stop fighting for you.” Watch his full remarks in the related video.
