Fred W Wilson - Yeoman 2nd Class - United States Navy - WWI Born November 6, 1890 - Died May 31, 1918 on board the USS President Lincoln at 9:53 am when she was hit by 3 torpedoes in the Atlantic Ocean. Son of Denison resident, Fred William Wilson, Sr. Samuel Seay Patillo - 2nd Lieutenant - United States Army Air Corps - WWII Born September 1, 1918 - Died February 8, 1942. He graduated from Denison High School and the University of Texas. He joined the Army Air Corps. in 1940. He was a navigator on a B-17E bomber that was shot down over the Java Sea by Japanese fighter planes. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Silver Star, and the Purple Heart. His memorial is in the Manila American Cemetery in Fort William McKinley, Manila Phillipines.
