On 6 August 1919, SGT Alvin C. York addressed the members of the John A. Deaver Post on the courthouse square in Jackson Tennessee. Thomas Jefferson Murray Junior, listed as post chairman in the Memphis NEWS SCIMITAR, presided.

Legion Home

Nov 11, 1948

Until 1948, Post 12 held its meetings at the National Guard Armory. The first building owned by Post 12, dubbed the Legion Home, was officially opened on 11November 1948.
