Post 45 is named after Alvin Theodore Dempewolf.. Alvin was born 13 July 1893 in Bellevue Iowa to Theodore Charles and Rose Ann (Yeager) Dempewolf.  Alvin was a local Harrisburg man who was killed in World War I. He attained the age of 25 years, 2 months and 24 days and is buried in Pleasant View Cemetery in Harrisburg South Dakota.
