About This Post

Post Namesake
Stoneycreek Township is the home of Shanksville, PA. Since the onset of the Global War on Terror, Shanksville has become synonymous with the Flight 93 Memorial. In order for the citizens and especially the students in the Shanksville-Stoneycreek Schools to remember their great history of supporting our Nation, the American Legion Post has initiated a plan to rededicate the WWI, WWII, Korean, Vietnam and GWOT Honor Roll. The post exists in a dry Boro in a dry Township so it has no Post Home with a social calendar. The effort to resurrect the names which had been maintained in the Veteran's Memorial in fron of the shools has gained a lot ofv momentum and has attracted 3 newspaper articles and one TV interview/video. We hope that this momentum will breath some new life into this "paper Post.
What Makes this Post Unique
It Serves as the connection to our Nations traditional values that support the Defense of our Country and the Flight 93, current mentality that is seen every day with visits to the National Site.
