William Fish Post. William Fish was the first resident of West Deer Twp to be killed in WWI and for this reason his name is attached to the Post. West Deer William Fish American is the proper name of the Post. The Post first meeting place was a Railroad car, donated to the Legion by the Bessemer and Lake Erie R.R. Co. "The Car" as it was known had to be moved from a rail site to the town of Curtisville. The legion members, local contractors and the community got together to make the move possible. In March 1932 The Car was ready for it first Post 593 meeting.
