Built and maintain a Veterans Memorial Park on 1-1/2 acres as a community park where Memorial Day, Patriot Day, and Veterans Day programs are held. In 2004, in conjunction with the WWII Memorial in Washington, DC we honored the 400 then living WWII veterans in our county. Every American Legion and VFW Post in the county participated in the program. We also have participated in a local Hometown Heroes Banner program where over 300 banners honoring veterans have been displayed on utility poles around town and it has prompted other communities to follow suit.
