What Makes this Post Unique
With a mission of helping veterans and youth in the Brownsville area, the American Legion Travis Moothart Post 184 is a critical part of the community. Post 184 is consistently recognized for their service to veterans and the community, and received 5 awards at the 2015 Sons of the American Legion Convention, and have over a dozen American Legion honors. Run by veterans and their families, Post 184 helps vets by offering assistance to those in need, and a comfortable place to go for coffee and to meet with other veterans. For those who need a little extra assistance, the Post has a veteran advocate come in every Monday to help sort out any problems their vets might have. Shared with the Brownsville Senior Center, the Post supports the annual Festival of Trees, and sponsors an annual Easter Egg Hunt. At Halloween, the Post is transformed into a haunted house, at which they collect donations of money or canned food for local families and veterans. They also have a large meeting hall available for banquets, parties, and meetings. Coming through during the Bi-Mart Willamette Country Music Festival? The Post is open the entire weekend, providing a great place to stop in and cool off. They’re also raffling off two tickets to the Festival. Stop in and buy some raffle tickets for your chance to win!
