Raymond Brooks Austin - Veterans of the 42nd Rainbow Division 1st Battalion 166th Infantry elected to form as the Raymond B. Austin American Legion Post 115 at the first meeting held September 30, 1919.  Major Austin's family was well established in Delaware, Ohio.  He was assigned to 6th Artillery 1st Division AEF and was KIA on October 7, 1918 near Fleville, France just 5 days after his 29th birthday.  He is buried in the Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery.  For his gallantry in that action Major Austin was posthumously awarded the Distinguished Service Cross and the Silver Star.
