Post Namesake

Chester M. Biggs, Jr. - Edward C. Kramer

Post 545 is named after WWII POW MSgt Chester M. Biggs, Jr., USMC-Ret, author of "Behind the Barbed Wire - Memoir of a World War II U.S, Marine who passed in 2011.  Post 545 is also named for SFC Edward C. Kramer, NCNG, and a local Firefighter, who lost his life in Iraq on 6/29/2009.

What Makes this Post Unique

Biggs-Kramer Post 545 is committed to providing services to our veterans, military and youth.  Post 545 has sponsored at least one individual to Tarheel Boys State each year.  We have also sent several individuals to NC Student Trooper program and have sponsored the Junior Shooter Program for 4 years.  We have had a candidate participate in the Department Oratorical Contest.

Additionally Post 545 has donated to the VSF, TFA, NEF and other programs to provide support to veterans.  Additionally Post 545 provides direct assistance to veterans each year, focusing primarily on our homeless veterans.
