Daniel L. Crowley was born on April 17, 1895 in Winthrop, NY. He was 22 years/10 months old when he was drafted into the Army as a Private on February 22, 1918. Daniel shipped out on February 23, 1918 for basic training arriving on February 24, 1918. On March 16, 1918 he finished his training and was assigned to Company C 302ndEngineers 77thDivision. Daniel left for the overseas campaign on March 29, 1918 on the transport ship Carmania out of the port of New York, NY. On October 13, 1918, Daniel was killed in action in the Forest of Argonne during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive. He is buried in St Patrick’s Cemetery, Brasher Falls, NY.
Daniel L. Crowley was posthumously awarded the World War I Victory Medal.
