Arthur Stanley was born March 7, 1896 in Burlington County, NJ.  He enlisted in the Army, and served as a Provate with Company H, 114th Infantry Regiment. He was killed in action October 12, 1918 in Verdun France during the battle of Bois D' Ormont. He was the first from Pemberton, NJ to be KIA in WW1.


Dr, Joseph Eden entered the Army at Camp Dix, and served six years in the Army Dental Corps, 2 of them overseas during WW1.  When he left the service, he located in Pemberton, NJ.  He was active in the Mount Holly Lodge of Elks, Pemberton Masonic Lodge and Pemberton Rotary Club.  He died at home of a heart attack on February 16, 1939.

Post 294 is named to honor these two hometown soldiers.
